How to Calculate Percent Off
To calculate a discounted price, multiply the original price by (1 − discount%/100). The savings equal the original price times the discount percentage divided by 100.
Final Price = Original × (1 − Discount% ÷ 100)
For a $200 item with 30% off:
Example: A jacket costs $150. It is 25% off. What is the sale price?
150 × (1 − 0.25) = $112.50 - Savings = $37.50
