Temperature Scales

Fahrenheit (°F) — Used in the United States for everyday temperature measurement. Water freezes at 32°F and boils at 212°F.

Celsius (°C) — The international standard. Water freezes at 0°C and boils at 100°C.

Kelvin (K) — The SI base unit of temperature. Absolute zero is 0 K (−273.15°C). No degree symbol is used.

Rankine (°R) — An absolute scale based on Fahrenheit. Absolute zero is 0°R (−459.67°F). Used in some engineering fields in the US.
