Number Systems

Binary (Base 2) — Uses digits 0 and 1. Fundamental to digital electronics and computing.

Octal (Base 8) — Uses digits 0–7. Historically used in computing as a compact representation of binary.

Decimal (Base 10) — The standard number system using digits 0–9.

Hexadecimal (Base 16) — Uses digits 0–9 and letters A–F. Widely used in programming and memory addresses.

Roman Numerals — An ancient numeral system using letters I, V, X, L, C, D, M. Supports numbers 1–3999.

Scientific Notation — Expresses numbers as a coefficient multiplied by a power of 10. E.g., 123456 = 1.23456 × 10⁵.

PPM (Parts Per Million) — A unit of concentration. 1 ppm = 0.0001% = 1000 ppb.
