Avogadro's Number
One mole of any substance contains 6.02214076 × 10²³ particles. This is Avogadro's number, the bridge between the number of particles and the amount in moles.
To get moles, divide the number of particles by Avogadro's number. To get particles, multiply the number of moles by it.
Formula
moles = number of atoms ÷ 6.022 × 10²³
Example: Convert 3.011 × 10²³ atoms to moles:
3.011 × 10²³ ÷ 6.022 × 10²³ = 0.5 mol
